Prof. dr. Stefan Paas
Prof. Paas (b. 1969) is the director of the CCMW. He is Professor of Missiology at Theologische Universiteit Kampen, J.H. Bavinck Professor of Missiology and Intercultural Theology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and Associate Researcher at the Faculty of Religion at the University of Pretoria (SA). Paas is married, with three children, and lives in Baambrugge, the Netherlands
Dr. Hans Schaeffer
Prof. Schaeffer (1972) is the vice-director of the CCMW. He is Professor of Practical Theology at Theologische Universiteit Kampen, and Executive Director of Research of the Institute for Practical Theology (Praktijkcentrum – www.praktijkcentrum.org). Schaeffer is married, with a daughter, and lives in Kampen, the Netherlands.
Dr. Gert-Jan Roest
Gert-Jan is one of the members of the CCMW. He is involved through his affiliation to the Theologische Universiteit Kampen. He focuses mostly on missiology.
Dr. Gerrit Noort
Rev.Dr. Gerrit Noort (born 1960) is an ordained minister of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands. He pursued his theological studies in Basel (Switzerland), Philadelphia (U.S.A.), Amsterdam and Utrecht (Netherlands).
After having served in a local reformed congregation in the Netherlands, he was a lecturer at the theological seminary of the Christian Church of Central Sulawesi (Indonesia) from 1991-1995. After repatriation he worked for the mission department of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands for many years. While working for the mission department he held several management positions and also was a lecturer of missiology at the Hendrik Kraemer Institute, a training institute for people who aim to serve in missionary and diaconal ministries.
As of 2010 he is director of the Netherlands Mission Council, an ecumenical platform of churches and organizations involved in mission and evangelism. He is also a part-time professor of missiology (by special appointment) at Kampen Theological University, where he holds the David Bosch Chair for Ecumenical and Evangelical Missiology.
Dr. Leon van den Broeke
Leon is a senior member of the CCMW. He is an expert in Church Polity and in Religion, Law and Society. He is an associate professor at the Theologische Universiteit Kampen and at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Also, he is the director of the Deddens Kerkrecht Centre at the Theologische Universiteit Kampen and chair of the Centre of Religion and Law, a joint venture of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Religion and Theology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Dr. Sake Stoppels
Dr. Sake Stoppels is professor (lector) in theology at the Christian University of Applied Sciences Ede (CHE) and office policer at the Protestant Church in the Netherlands (PKN). In both jobs he concentrates at pioneering and others manifestations of church renewal. His research project in Ede is ‘Zingeving in nieuwe geloofsgemeenschappen’ (‘Meaning of life in new faith communities’) with a focus on the theological profile of new faith communities. He is a visiting fellow in the research program of the CCMW. He lives with his family in Zeist.
Martijn Dreschler, MA (1987) is connected to the CCMW as a junior researcher, supported by the Dutch missional organization called ‘Verre Naasten’. His research focuses on soteriological biographies of church planters and missional workers in the Netherlands. At the same time, he is a missional worker for a church community called ‘De Verbinding’ in Hilversum (NL). Martijn Dreschler lives in Hilversum, is married, and father of one son.
Several members of the CCMW are members because they work at the Praktijkcentrum, a small group of people who work to help churches in their current contexts. The following members of the CCMW work at the Praktijkcentrum.
Drs. Annemiek de Jonge
Annemiek is a researcher at the Praktijkcentrum.
Hayo Wijma, MLD
Hayo combines his role as advisor and researcher at the Praktijkcentrum with his work as a teacher Practical Theology and Methodology at the Theological Universities of Kampen and Apeldoorn. Hayo is working on a PhD about the role of church polity in changing congregations. He has a background in change management and is an experienced leader in processes of change. In the past twenty years, he has aided many churches in pastoral, diaconal and missional development. He has done research into the reasons for young members to leave the church and is the author and editor of works like Hou van je huwelijk, Handboek voor kringleiders en handboek voor diakenen. Hayo is fast at analysing complex questions and can connect these analyses to fitting solutions.
Drs. Merijn Wijma-van der Veen
Merijn Wijma, MA (1993) is connected to the CCMW through the Praktijkcentrum, where she works as a statistician. At the same time, she is the archivist of the Reformed Churches Liberated and working on a PhD on the statistical development of the reformed churches in the Netherlands at the Theological University Kampen, after having obtained a BA at University College Roosevelt in Linguistics, Literature and Theatre & Media Studies and an MA in English Language and Linguistics at Leiden University. Wijma lives in Kampen and is married.
